TC80: Between Digital Nostalgia and the Futuristic Underground
French producer TC80 (Tony Callea) has carved out a distinct space within Europe's underground electronic scene. Based in Barcelona his sound moves fluidly between minimal, techno, and electro, built around a personal: a world where retro video game soundtracks, sci-fi atmospheres, and hypnotic club rhythms coexist.
After years of residencies in German clubs, Tony launched the TC80 aesthetic project as a reflection of his fascination with the digital textures of the '80s and '90s. In 2017, he co-founded Sequalog Records with his friend Etienne, a label devoted to forward-thinking club music beyond genre boundaries.
TC80’s productions aren’t just made for the dance floor—they’re made to transport you somewhere else. Every release unfolds like a digital landscape: precise loops, robotic grooves, and immersive melodic lines that blur the line between club music and sonic storytelling.
Across works like PLAY (2017), Yoga (2020), Lost Station EP (2022), and Overload (2023), his catalog has evolved toward a more sophisticated and emotionally charged form of electronic music. In a scene where trends come and go, TC80 stands out for maintaining its underground credibility while crafting a recognizable, cinematic identity.
